Shem - Sleeps 4 Suckas (muthafuckas)
Shem paints a vivid picture of the life in South London and how he see's the bright lights through his songs picturing everyday issues, of women, partying, local areas and coping with the pressures of being a young male in london's realest area.
He has a very unique voice and slow flow that remains constant throughout, and is often begging to be switched up but a voice so familiar that once recognised is never forgotten. Shem lays his flow over an array of beats that should be saluted, time in the studio picking out the right sounds for his voice/songs has been well spent. Lyrically Shem is easy to understand giving you stories so well laid out that you instantly relate even if you don't agree with what he saying. A confident spitter and one that is able to take on different topics and genres of songs and still make them as good as the last.
With the slow flow and the South London connection you can see a little comparison with Giggs but Shem is his own artist. A less thugged out persona, more versatile in his range of topics and brings out the sweet boy/ladies man songs out effortlessly. With the addition of features Shem steps up his game to outdo anyone else on his tracks, which makes for a better song, with probably the best track of the mixtape 'My Heart My Love' Ft. Bonez.
Shem has put out a good set of work, but will have to look at every track as if he is competing with a featuring artist, to make sure he is at the top of his game. Allow himself to let go and explore more genres of music, and constantly strive to make songs that are intelligent and follow in the steps of his team, Supreme Minds.
