A night to say farewell, but that turnt out to be one where most came to try and convince Soulcial must stay. Soulcial was bidding farewell to shining the spotlight on some of the UK's best underground talent on this Sunday evening.
To sign off in style a BBQ was laid on in between a night of tremendous talent. An evening that turnt into dusk, from the blue skies to the smoky night. Soulcial split there night into two parts. First was a outer ring of both up and coming and established artists jostling to make an impact and leave an impression.
From the Soulful and authentic sounds of Yasine and Ego Ella-May to the witty and brazen XO Man. We also had insightful and conscious words from DeAnna Rodger and Ola The Poet to take in under the sun's shining eye.
As the night crept up on us the Soulcial faithful was lead down stairs to embrace a surrounding more accustomed to bands and a musical event. The stage set and the instruments ready. The mighty voice of Wilson and the outstanding talent of Dionne Reid were all fitting for such an event. One where talent begins to grow and is supported fully by the organisers and the crowd. The night ended with the Collective Indigo Brown, a fusion of soul, presence and take-your-breath-away song making. A pair to be compared with early Floetry. And then the night ended, curtain lowered and London in mourning for a spectacle that hopefully is in retirement as long as Jay-Z was. Here is to the return of Soulcial.
